West Students

Welcome

Welcome to Hillside’s West Campus Students Ministry! Thanks for stopping by! We offer an environment where students are able to take the next step in their spiritual journey. We hope to connect students to the heart of God through worship and biblical teaching, and give them the opportunity to experience the community of a body of believers.

We know that 6th-12th grade can be a difficult season in a person’s life, both spiritually and socially. Dating, peer pressure, how to dress, getting good grades – all this (and a lot more!) can heap stress into a student’s life. We hope to offer a place where those stresses are recognized, talked about, and placed under the peace and light of Christ’s truth for our lives. Our students have the chance to come together in both large and small group environments to find wisdom, encouragement, and community.

At Hillside, we are passionate about all high school students having the chance to experience group life! Groups are a place where students can meet together to worship God, connect with other Christ followers in biblical community, and share their faith with their friends.

Instead of gathering at the Student Building on Wednesday nights, Amarillo West and Northwest high school students will gather in home groups throughout the week. In these groups students will have fun with friends, study the Bible, and grow in their faith.

• Weekly Home Group Meetings
Throughout the school year, high school home groups will meet weekly. Each group will choose a night of the week to meet that works best for them. Groups will be of mixed gender and grade. Every home group will be hosted and led by a team of adult leaders. If your student has school commitments during the week, they will now have the freedom to choose a group that meets on a different night!

• Worship Gatherings
Throughout the semester groups will meet together for a unified worship service.

• Fun Nights
Each semester we will host several fun nights with activities like broom ball, dodge ball tournaments, bowling, and bonfires. Everyone will meet together to just have fun.

• Wednesday Night Volunteering
High school students will have the opportunity to serve as assistant middle school group volunteers during the middle school Wednesday night programs!

To join a group or find out more please contact Chase Clark.

Sunday Morning Groups

PGIMG_west_studentGroups.jpgSunday Morning Groups
We understand that it’s important for middle school and high school students to connect with their friends for Bible study, discussion, and fun, which is why we encourage students to be a part of a Sunday Morning Group. Middle school students experience age and gender-specific groups led by adults who sincerely care about students. High school students experience a large group teaching and discussion time led by adults who are passionate about God’s Word.

Sunday Morning Groups meet throughout the year in the Amarillo West Campus Students Building. The doors and the Student Cafe open at 9:00 a.m.; groups start at 9:30 a.m. To find out more, please contact Morgan Pratt.
