Resolutions That Stick
In 2017 many of us will join the throngs of people resolving to change something particular about our lives. We will declare it is finally time to eat healthy, quit smoking, start exercising, not spend so much money, stop wasting so much time on social media, or get back to church. The list goes on and on.
WE CALL THESE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS.
It’s no shock that many of these resolutions are dropped and forgotten before January even ends. Our motivation loses its grip. Our willpower weakens. Our determination stops. Even though we so desperately want it to work!
Having goals or resolve is a good thing. However, does attempting to reach the same goals over and over in the same way with the same lack of results make sense? The Bible says it doesn’t have to be this way. You can make Resolutions that Stick.
Instead of focusing on specific goals, we will zero in on three principles that prompt and fuel change in our lives. Lasting change. These three principles offer a way that is more effective than sheer willpower or trying harder. So in 2017, instead of feeling disappointed in our resolutions, maybe it’s time to try a new way!
