Divorce Care

Whether you are considering divorce, in the middle of it, or it has been many years, DivorceCare is led by people who understand what you are going through and want to help. Come join others and be reminded that you aren’t alone! Each session has a video and group discussion. You will receive a book at the first meeting.

This group will meet on Tuesday evenings (6:30-8:30 p.m.) beginning August 30 and continuing through the fall. No payment is needed, but registration is required. Childcare is available with reservation.

Financial Peace University

We all need a plan for our money. Financial Peace University, developed by Dave Ramsey, is a biblically-based accountability class that will train you to manage your resources, get rid of debt, spend and save wisely, and much more. Through video teaching, class discussions, and interactive small group activities, FPU presents biblical, practical steps to get from where you are to where you’ve dreamed you could be.

FPU begins August 31 at the Amarillo West Campus in Room 408. Registration and payment is required. The cost is $100 (cost is the same for an individual or a couple). CLICK HERE to register. Childcare is available with reservation.

HillsideWomen: Entrusted Bible Study

Entrusted: A study of 2 Timothy by Beth Moore. In this 6-session Bible study, Beth will encourage you to guard what God has entrusted to you, further His kingdom by sharing Christ with others, and pour into future generations just as Paul once mentored Timothy. Because in this journey of joy and hardship, we need each other to stay the course and live a life of faithfulness.

HillsideWomen: “Seamless” Bible Study

Seamless: Understanding The Bible As One Complete Story. Seamless covers the people, places, and promises of the Bible, tying them together into the greater story of Scripture. Participants will gain an understanding of the fundamental layout and meaning of God’s Word. Each week of study features key information that ties all of Scripture together into the seamless truth of the gospel message and is accompanied by maps, general Bible facts, and word studies.

This study will be offered on Monday evenings (6:30-8:00 p.m.) beginning September 12. No payment is needed, but registration is required. Childcare is available with reservation. The study will conclude on October 24.

High School Connect Retreat

Connect will be an intentional, one-night, in-town retreat for high school students that focuses on the power of fun, friends, and Jesus. Part of this event happens as a weekend conference at the church. The other part of this event happens as a small group retreat at host homes. Guys and girls will be split up in different homes. If students don’t already attend a small group, they are welcome to list a few friends they would like to be with and we will place them in the same group. Specific times and locations will be communicated the week prior to the retreat. Upon registration you will receive a code that you can give to a friend. This code will let them register for the retreat for free!

Gratitude House Remodel

The Downtown Women’s Center in Amarillo is remodeling a 40-unit apartment complex that will serve as a safe haven for women who are working towards a recovery from addiction. Hillside has the great opportunity to come alongside the Downtown Women’s Center and assist in the remodeling. We will be painting, replacing flooring, scrapping ceilings, cleaning, furnishing, and decorating 2 or 3 apartments within the building.

Veritas Theological Institute

At Veritas Theological Institute you can receive biblical studies training, without the cost or commitment of pursuing a formal degree. Two courses will be offered this fall in the Biblical Studies Program, “Introduction to the New Testament” and “Church History in Plain Language”. These courses are non-accredited, but will offer participants a graduate-level learning experience as well as meaningful spiritual enrichment. Participants are able to take either one or both of the courses towards a “certificate of completion.”
