5th Grade Students Preview Nights and Parent Orientation

Preview Nights are a chance for current 5th graders and their parents to experience Hillside Students. You are invited to come and visit our student ministry on Wednesday, May 2, May 9, and/or May 16. Hillside Students meets on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Amarillo South Campus Students Building (6901 S. Bell). Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and programming starts at 7:00. There will be fun events each of these nights and it is great way for 5th graders to get excited about being a part of Hillside Students next year. These nights are also a great chance to bring friends!

There is a Parent Orientation Meeting on May 2 from 8:00-8:30 p.m. Childcare will be available during this time if you have children who are ages birth-4th grade.

We are talking about: Hidden Power

Almost every single one of us is tapped into something that holds great Hidden Power. It is always with you, and it demands a lot of your attention. It’s your phone. Our phones are changing how our brains work, how we connect with other people, what we think about ourselves and our lives, and how we connect with God. Are you addicted to distractions? How are you using your words – for good or harm? What are you hiding from your friends, your parents, from God? These are questions we all have to ask ourselves.

The good news is you can become less distracted, you can use your words to change the world for good, and you can find real connection with others and with God. That selfie won’t last. Your followers won’t be there forever. Your phone is going to get outdated. But your relationship with God will last forever!
